Kirk is a data extraction and reporting platform developed in collaboration with the German Red Cross, addressing the challenge of standardizing key reporting metrics across district associations. Unlike previous projects, Kirk was developed with full code rather than no-code solutions, showcasing fast-paced product management and development in small teams. The project was completed within three months, covering both product discovery and development. The initial phase focused on extensive user research, with dozens of interviews to refine the problem statement and achieve problem-solution fit. The core challenge identified was the lack of a standardized method for district associations to report essential figures. To solve this, we built an AI-powered algorithm using the Gemini API to extract structured data from unstructured documents. The system processes thousands of pages of PDFs, websites, and other sources, filtering relevant data through an intelligent funnel to deliver actionable insights for the organization.
